Following the launch party, the K1 children from My First Skool @ 180B Boon Lay Drive went on the field trip to visit the Penguins at the Jurong Bird Park.
We were happy and glad that our parents were able to join us on this field trip.
The education officers met us at the entrance and brought us on a tour at the Penguin Coast where we were introduced to the different varieties of penguins.
The children took a liking to the King Penguins and the African penguins.
We learned more about the anatomy of the penguins and got a chance to touch and explore the specimens.
The children pretended to be ‘Parent King Penguins’, where they tried to balance and walk with the ball between their feet, simulating how real King Penguins incubate their eggs.
We also discussed about the dangers that the penguins are facing daily such as littering, climate change and overfishing.
We ended our trip with watching the “High Flyers Show”.
