Working together with Northwest CDC in our “ Buddies Greenies” initiative, our children have spent months planting, nurturing, and harvesting their crops. Through this hands-on experience, they’ve learned valuable lessons about agriculture and the importance of caring for the environment. They’ve discovered the ioy of growing their own food and the impact of sustainable practices.
Children were also engaged back home with their families where they actively participated in a cookery session preparing delicious dishes with their harvested crop together. This was a fantastic opportunity to reinforce the lessons they’ve learned and highlight the role we all play in caring our planet. Parents captured their cooking experience and uploaded their collaged photos via the parents portal. Children then shared their cookery process with their fellow peers.
Teaching children about sustainability, conservation, and the impact of their actions from an early age helps instill values that can lead to lifelong habits. When children are engaged in activities like recycling, conserving water, or planting trees, they develop a deeper connection to nature and an understanding of how their choices affect the world around them. By empowering children with knowledge about environmental care, we are preparing future generations to be mindful, proactive citizens capable of addressing global challenges. Till then~
