Posso Preschool @ Jurong East has officially launched our SSDB project for 2021. Our theme for this year is “Planting Seeds of Kindness.” We aim to spread awareness with our children on the positive outcomes of gardening in our community.
We decided to showcase our Posso Garden in our new premises. The children will be planting vegetables, flowers and herbs. In the next few months, the children will be involved in planting, growing and harvesting their own produce. The harvested produce will then be packaged by the children and put up for sale in Posso Market.
Parents will have the option to purchase these produce and the money raised from the Posso Market will be donated to a charity.
Everyone in school plays a part in contributing to our garden. The PG and N1 will be decorating cups which will be used as flower pots. The N2, K1 and K2 children discussed with their peers on what they would like to plant for Posso Market. After their discussions, they wrote it down in their SSDB journals.
We hope that this collaborative project will help educate our children on the hard work and effort it takes to grow and harvest their own plants, as well as raise awareness about the less fortunate and how they can help in their own little ways.
