As part of our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) Project, the children were introduced to the inspiring slogan, “Root for the Future”. This theme set the stage for a series of meaningful activities aimed at fostering environmental responsibility and awareness.
Children create their own 3D tree structure — this craft project not only allowed them to express their creativity but also served as a tangible reminder of the importance of nurturing growth, both in plants and in their community. This activity beautifully encapsulated the essence of the project, leaving the children with a lasting understanding of their role in protecting and caring for the environment.
To bring this message to life, the children embarked on a walk around the neighbourhood, where they took on the role of young environmentalists.
During this walk, they actively helped clean up their surroundings, learning that just like plants, our environment needs to be well maintained and clean for all living things to thrive.🪴
Upon returning to the centre, the children reflected on the key takeaways from their experience. They engaged in a thoughtful discussion about the importance of creating and maintaining a conducive environment, particularly when it comes to the growth and care of plants.
This discussion reinforced the connection between a healthy environment and successful plant growth, helping the children internalize the lesson.☘️
