Skool4Kidz Campus @ Yishun launched our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) 2023 project involving N2-K1 children on 27 April 2023. Focusing on the theme “Caring for the Environment”, the N2 and K1 children embarked on this year’s project titled “Little Green Hands for Earth!” They kicked off their SSDB project by learning about the importance of caring for the environment and participated in a series of activities to learn and understand the significance of our natural environment on Earth.
During the launch party, the N2 children experienced different activities in relation to caring for the environment. Through a yoga session, the children were introduced to the life cycle of a plant. They expressed their ideas and moved their bodies to represent the different stages of a plant’s life cycle.
Afterwards, the children were introduced to the different ways to care for plants through watching an educational video. Determined to be plant ambassadors who will protect and care for the plants on Earth, the children expressed their commitment and coloured their ambassador badges. They put on their nature headgears and ambassador badges thereafter!
The K1 children kicked off their project by dancing to the song ‘Planting a Tree’ and identifying the steps to plant a tree. They were then engaged in a discussion where they shared about the importance of trees on Earth.
The children continued reflecting on the importance of trees through a craft activity. They wrote down the reasons for why trees are important on individual leaves. They then pasted their leaves onto the tree craft, and identified the important role that they can play in taking care of plants and trees in the environment.
With this launching of SSDB and other future activities, we hope that the children can do their part in caring for the natural environment!
