Our SSDB 2018 project “Sowing Love with Little Hands” will be involving our children in two major events with a gardening theme.
The first event is our forthcoming family day celebration in May 2018 - “Family Day with a Big Heart”. We will be organizing a fun outing to a garden where LoveShine families can come together to enjoy nature and participate in a flower arrangement workshop. Our children will also be putting up their beautiful craft works for sale on that day to do their part for charity. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the beneficiaries and the less fortunate of the President’s Challenge 2018!
The second event will involve the children from K1 and K2 class in “Tea in Our Garden” with the elderly from the nearby All Saints Home in June 2018. We hope to bring joy and cheer to the invited elderly as they have tea and spend time interacting with the children. Our children will also learn about serving and loving the community as they mingle with the elderly and engage them in music and movement, craft work and fun games.
We had a wonderful launch party on 6 Apr 2018 to kick off the SSDB project! The children were excited to discover the little things they can do to show love and care for people and to give back to the society.
They had great fun potting plants into troughs and made a SSDB pledge to sow a garden of love with their little hands and to shine their love on the community!
At the end of the launch, they had a picnic and enjoyed a hearty and healthy meal of sandwiches, salad and fruits!
Well done all our LoveShine agents of SSDB 2018, let our SSDB “Sowing Love with Little Hands” journey begin!
