The K1s started off “Our Dream Garden” on 28th July 2017 with a small plot of land in front of the centre. Parents were invited to join in the event by planting different kinds of edible plants and seeds in troughs. The objective of the project is to instil positive values by caring for the environment, develop self-esteem, better interpersonal skills, greater connection and responsibility to the world around us.
Teacher started the event with a storytelling - “The Curious Garden” by Peter Brown.
Materials were prepared for the hands on gardening experience.
After the storytelling and introduction to the objectives of the event and itinerary, children and parents head outdoors.
Children all raring to go set up their dream garden.

Children enjoying a fruity picnic to conclude the event.
Although the event was only held for the morning, continuous tender care of the garden is being carried out on a regular basis. Children from the K1 and N2 will continue to visit and tend the garden. We may have started with something small, we hope it will bloom into a garden that the children can view with pride.
