Our children at My First Skool at Jurong East Central had launched the SSDB project on 6th July.
We choose gardening as our project this year as we believe that it is one of the a great ways to teach responsibility. Though it is not an overnight process, Children will need to learn to be patient when waiting for their vegetables to grow.
As children taking turns to water the plants every day in School, they develop social skills as they learn to work together from filling up the water sprayer from the faucet and then watering the plants.
Gardening also encourages children to eat healthier. As we engage children in growing their own vegetables, the teachers and children talked about the importance of eating vegetables especiallg during this time of pandemic.
