At our SSDB launch party 2019, we celebrated International Friendship Day on campus with various fun games and activities! All the teachers and children wore their favourite cultural costumes and went around to different stations.
To kick-start the exciting day, the children made friendship bracelets, to present to one of their best friends! They threaded different coloured beads with cute characters on it through colourful pipe-cleaners of their choice.
Next, at the gardening station, the children selected their pots and seeds (lavender and mint leaves) to get started with their green fingers! Some of the children from the K1 and K2 classes made a trip down to the Nursery next door to purchase some soil while others had a breezy walk to the cafe down the street to collect some coffee grounds to use as fertilizer!
At the friendship wall, the children were provided with colourful chalk to draw pictures of them with their friends or to write an appreciative message!
Last but not least, the children got the opportunity to play different cultural games, such as pick-up sticks and five stones! The children and the teachers had an exciting day celebrating friendship between all cultures and how we’re all different but same.
