After introducing the community garden andĀ setting up a mini garden in the classroom, we continue toĀ instil gardening interests to the children by asking them toĀ creatĀ a paper plate flower with the construction paper, magazine and foam fruit wrapper. During the activity, theĀ children learnĀ about the parts of aĀ flower š· and their functions. They were given the materials to cut and design their own unique flower.Ā Once they have completed their artwork, they use it as a prop to sing and do the actions for the song āGrow, grow, grow a gardenā. The children were excited to present their performance to the class.Ā
