In a world we live in right now, where the future is still uncertain and the food supply might soon be scarced, how can we play our part to achieve a sustainable living?
With this question lingering in our minds, we conducted an activity which aims to develop the children’s curiosity on where and how we get our food. Together with their supportive parents, we had our online planting activity which we named as “Fun with Growing” on 17 July 2021.
Our community partner for this year’s SSDB project is Singapore Food Agency.
With the help of their parents, the children were able to follow the step by step procedure in planting.
After the activity, we proudly showed our planting trays as we posed for our group photo.
We have also given the children a booklet wherein they can record the growth of their plant.
It was such a fun, engaging and meaningful activity. We hope that through this project, the children will take responsibility of their actions and develop a good relationship with food. Hence, in our own simple way…Together, we can ensure a resilient supply of food safety and food security.
No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.
