On 14th May, children went on a fieldtrip to Oh Chin Huat dark to learn more about gardening and how to take care of plants.
The children were guided by the guide who gave them step by step instructions. It was a first experience for most of the children and they were curious and ecstatic!
The children worked together in mixing the soil with the fertiliser. They then helped each other in scooping the soil into their pots of plant.
Finally, they placed a stem of mint plant into the pot and water them!
After planting, they went around the farm to look at the different vegetables and herbs that are planted there! Furthermore, they get to learnt about the stages of the plants and what the plants need for each stages for it to grow.
With this experience, children will be able to apply their knowledge and skills when we are planting in our garden.
Children were overjoyed when they get to bring home goodie bags from the farm!
