The “Family Day with a Big Heart” event is part of our SSDB – “Sowing Love with Little Hands” project to encourage our children to use their little hands to give back to the society. Before the event, the teachers taught the children about charity and how they can sow love and kindness to the less fortunate. They engaged the children to make creative garden themed craftworks with their little hands for charity!
Our Family Day was held at the Promenade Lawn of Garden by the Bay on 19 May 2018. It is a delightful Family Day venue with beautiful waterfront and lush open lawns. LoveShine families enjoyed nature in the garden and had a wonderful family bonding time together. They participated in a flower arrangement workshop and contributed to charity by donating to the President’s Challenge.
The children contributed to charity when they recited their SSDB pledge and put up their craftworks for sale. The parents were told by the teachers how the children created their craftworks and they supported their child’s effort for charity enthusiastically by purchasing their craft masterpiece!
Indeed no one can do everything but everyone can do something for charity! All the proceeds from the sale of craftworks, including the cost of craftworks borne by the school, will be donated to the less fortunate and beneficiaries of the President’s Challenge!
Well done parents and children of LoveShine! Keep up the good work of SSDB!
