Walking to the Community garden
Seeds were provided for the Nursery students to plant. They worked together with the senior citizens of RC and completed the project on their communal garden. Children went to check on the development of their seedlings after a week had passed.
‘Watering the Vegetables’
The children were thrilled to see how the seeds had grown and that they could now see the vegetable’s leaf beginning to emerge. Since they are aware that plants require sunlight, water, and air. They used the watering can to irrigate their plants.
‘Harvesting The Vegetables’
Since the vegetable was planted two weeks ago. It was now time for them to gather the produce. The plants turned out to be really healthy, and the kids were astounded to see how big they were as well.
They expressed their gratitude to the uncle for helping them harvest and for washing the vegetables for them. The vegetables can be taken home with them. With this activity, hopefully, the kids will grow to enjoy eating greens.
The students seemed to really like planting the vegetable, so keep an eye out to see what these future farmers will do next.
