It was 19 July 2017, Wednesday, and excitement was in the air! Residents from the Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled (BHID) strolled in happily to our preschool. Parent volunteers and our K1 children alike, were looking forward to this craftwork.
As the children gathered in groups of six, together with, two residents from BHID, they immediately got down to work. The parent volunteers and teachers were as busy as bees, facilitating the craftwork! Enthusiasm and creativity abounded in the room!
The children and residents from BHID put their heart and soul to the drawings of many pretty designs and pictures. Thereafter, with each careful stroke of the paintbrushes, beautiful hand painted flower pots were crafted from the heart !
Everyone brimmed with pride at the final product ! Even the residents from BHID returned home with a sense of accomplishment and it was certainly a memorable day for all !
