Alora Preschool kicked off its “Start Small Dream Big” Project by launching “Alora’s Giving Garden”.
The project aims to inspire our children to work collaboratively with others and learn to create and maintain a sustainable garden. They will be given an opportunity to explore how to make compost from recycled food and natural wastes as an organic fertiliser, save seeds produced from matured plants and flowers from their garden, learn about local plants, use sustainable methods to control weeds and pests and conserve water resources.
The produce from the garden will also be shared in the community where children will get to choose community workers whom they will share their harvests with.
Here, the children are familiarising themselves with the different gardening tools and learning about the different kinds of plants. Stay tuned for the actual gardening activities. We can’t wait to present to you, our outdoor garden in collaboration with Leng Kee Community Centre!
