Children took this opportunity to show kindness and appreciation to the community helpers who clean our neighbourhood. During the preparation, children created a ‘Thank You’ card for their parents and guardians in exchange for dry goods donations.
The parents were supportive and brought in items such as instant noodles, biscuits, toothpaste and coffee packets.
Each level was given different roles in making the appreciation goodie bag. The Kindergarten 2 children wrote and designed letters. The Kindergarten 1 children designed the tote bags. While the Nursery 2 children sorted and packed the goodie bags. The children were very involved and took pride in making the goodie bags.
To end our kindness project this year, we had a short session whereby the children interacted with the community helpers in our neighbourhood. The community helpers brought their buggy to show the children.
During the session, children had the opportunity to ask questions to get to know more about the community helpers’ job scope. One of the children asked about the use of the buggy. To which the community helpers explained that it is used to carry heavy objects.
To conclude our SSDB journey this year, here is a photo with the community helpers!
