Sustainability begins at home, yet school plays a critical in educating children on the importance of sustainability and how they can make a difference in the world we are living in. Therefore, Dreamkids adopts not only the Nurturing Early Years (NEL) framework we also incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our curriculum. As a result, learning now becomes alive and relevant!
For example, building an eco-friendly garden in the school provides opportunities for the children to get creative with recycled materials and understand essential concepts such as biodegradable and non-biodegradable products and their impact on Earth. In addition, it is one of the ways to involve our parents and community, who came forward with plant cutting and shared their knowledge on propagation.
When sustainability begins in school, it becomes part of the learning and, soon, part of our lives.
