We started off with incorporating the project with our monthly Wacky Friday where all the children wore blue to school. There were a myriad of activities planned for them to educate them the importance of water, how to identify water wastage and how can they be involved to save water.
The children had games in which they had to ‘transport’ water from one point to another least wastage. This is to educate them the difficulties faced by other countries who do not have the luxury of tap in their homes.
The parents were also roped in to write down their water pledge paired with a photo of their child carrying out the activity.
The interns who are attached to the centre were a greate help in putting all the pledges together on the huge display outside the centre.
This is a collective effort by the centre (children, staff & parents).
No one can do everything. But everyone can do something.
