In the current situation where we are facing with COVID- 19 pandemic, many families are affected badly as jobs are taken away from the sole breadwinner. Due to this, we took this opportunity to educate the children the effect of the COVID-19 towards the people in Singapore and around the world. Thoughts and ideas were shared during discussion on how to assist those in need.
Our project ‘LIttle Thought Big Heart ‘ aims to reach out those in need during the pandemic. In collaboration with Food from The Heart organisation, we were able to get children from Infant to K2 levels and staff to contribute food items such as canned, packet noodles, biscuits and packet drinks. With the generous contribution from the parents, we managed to fill boxes of food items.
To extend the learning, the K1 children sorted out the food items based on the different catergory- canned food, dried food and packet drinks. A lot of learning have been taken place where they learnt about food pyramid, healthier choice and the halal sign. After 5 weeks of the project, Food from The Heart organisation came to collect the food items on Friday, 26th June 2020. Thank you SSDB for giving us this opportunity to contribute to the society!
