For the next step of our project, the children were open to the idea of creating toys for the children in need. To equip the children with more knowledge on children in need, we invited a parent to share with us about her childhood days. The parent was given a list of questions to prepare for her sharing during the zoom session.
The questions asked were as follows: -
-
Can you share about your childhood days when you were younger?
-
Last time, were the toys expensive as nowadays?
-
Do you experience any hardship while growing up and how you and your family manage it? (For example, financial assistance, or any organization that came to help & etc)
-
If your answer is no for question number 3, based on your opinions or views, what do you think the children in need is facing right now? (You can make reference to question number 2 and talk about the children in need could not afford to buy toys and etc.)
-
Help us to give our children encouragement in creating awesome toys for the children in need.
During the sharing session, the parent shared with us her journey of growing up, hardships, comparing the prices of toys during her childhood times as compared to nowadays (which are more expensive), giving her views on helping children in need and their families. A few children came up to ask questions too. At the end of the zoom session, the parent gave words of encouragements to the children to create the toys with love and sincerity. It was an insightful sharing indeed!
