When the children and teachers started planning for this art sale, we were focused that the those attending the exhibition will be able to visualise and understand what sea pollution does to sea creature and how we can recycle the things that were thrown into the sea, so that our seas remain clean. We wanted to put up an art installation which showed this . At the same time, we planned to juxtapose the art work of the children which showed the extreme opposite of the marine life, featuring children’s ideas of a clean sea and healthy marine life. Many parents came to give their support and were impressed with the wonderful sight and sound experience which greeted them. They also enjoyed the knowledgeable information shared by our exhibition guide from K2. They encouraged us to even open up the viewing to the public.
A ship wreck covered with dirt and dying fishes is a contrast to the beautiful art done by the children.
The crabs (motorised and are able to move) find it hard to live in the polluted water. They have to constantly clean the rubbish with their claws.
Pollution had cosumed everything.. Antarctic does not exist anymore due to global warming. Everything has been consumed by the sea. All the penguins have died due to the destruction of their home.
