The Kindergarten 2 children from PCF Sparkletots Preschool Blk 443/444 were thrilled to be participating in the SSDB Launch Party that was held on 8 April 2022. We came up with a title for our project which is called “Bringing Sunshine To The Lives of Children”.
The Kindergarten 2 children were introduced to the topic and objectives that we will be focusing on - Helping the underprivileged children. They were brought deeper into the topic of helping underprivileged children through storytelling; storybooks - Empathy, It’s a No Money Day, Saturday at the Food Pantry. This is to create awareness of the lives of children in need, importance of showing empathy and develop a sense of giving. Children discussed on how they can help children in need and what they have learnt. They penned it down on the heart-shape cut-outs and shared about what they have written.
In addition, the Kindergarten 2 children were also introduced to another topic: Recycling. Children were encouraged to sort the recycled materials into the respective containers (Paper, Plastic, Metal) and has a discussion of how they can use the recycled materials to make something for the underprivileged children. They were quick-witted suggesting that the recycled materials can be made into toys to donate to the underprivileged children.
We are excited to embark on this project further and hope that we can bring sunshine to the lives of the children in need.
