We had the launch party through a seed planting ceremony! We teamed up with NParks and received different types of seeds to plant in our school garden!
Some of the seeds the K1 children planted included Mizuna, Bok Choy and Komatsuna.
The K2 children made their DIY hydroponics farm using recycled bottles and a piece of cotton cloth! The bottles were cut in half and the top of the bottle was positioned upside down in the bottom half. Then, the children chose a cloth and put it through the bottle caps, making sure the cloth is able to reach the water at the bottom. They filled the top half with some peat moss and then planted their seeds! Thereafter, they filled the bottom half with a bit of water, put the top half back on, and waited to see if the seeds will grow!
The children will continue to grow different types of plants using various farming methods in the upcoming weeks, as they learn the importance of incorporating sustainability into our lives and showing gratitude for the food that we have.
