We brought the children to the nearest coffee shop Blk 628, wherein the children can see a lot of people eating and also a lot of wasted food.
So what does really happen to those food waste that is being collected from the coffee shops?
There is a machine managed by Eco-Wiz that can convert one tonne of food into water.
It works by mixing food waste with microbes, which digest and decompose the food waste into water. The water is eventually being used to clean the dishes and the bin where they used to place the food wastes.
Operators from NEA demonstrated how the machine works and the children were amazed to see and discover that food wastes can be converted into water.
