On 11 April, we launched our first ssdb project. We are honored to be the first preschool collaborating with S. E. A. Aquarium (S. E. A. A) for the SSDB president’s challenge.
Prior to SEAA’s visit to our school, the children designed posters to welcome SEAA staff as we embark on this project together.
Children and parents also put together their creative juices to create marine creatures using recycled plastic materials.
We were honored to have S. E. A. A staff visit the school to share with children about the harmful effects of plastic pollution on marine life and us, and how we can be avocades for Healthy Oceans - ‘Guardians of the Sea’.
The children were excited to gain new insights and embraced the SSDB slogan that “no one can do everything, but everyone can do something”.
The children also shared about how they can start to do little things to reduce plastic use (e.g. using bamboo/metal straws, recycling and upcycle plastics, use recycled bags instead of plastic bags etc. )
Moving forward, the children will also be doing beach cleaning as well as partner with SEAA to launch the World Oceans Day @ S.E.A. Aquarium resort world Sentosa in May to raise public awareness against marine plastic pollution. 😁
