Plants, like all living things, have basic needs that must be met for them to survive. These needs include: light, air, water, a source of nutrition, and a space to live and grow. This is what Nursery 2 children learned during our Special Project lesson.
In these pictures, they were singing “The Needs of a Plant” song as they were coordinating their movements to the song.
They also drew what they learned during the lesson! They were able to identify and enumerate all the needs of a plant!
It’s also interesting to share that they initiated to water the plants in our mini-gardeun. They were divided into smaller groups and were assigned a day to water the plants and to ensure that the plants are taken care of.
As a teacher, I am grateful and proud that these children at very young age were ready to accept the responsibility to take care of our nature.
