To encourage our nation’s effort in managing the recent COVID-19 situation, we are thankful for everyone’s effort in staying united as we face the crisis together. We are especially grateful to all the frontline workers and essential service providers during the Circuit Breaker in April and May. Hence, we would like to instil and nurture our young children with hearts of gratitude.
For this year’s SSDB project, we seek partnership with our parents - A Grateful Heart; providing an experience for our children to express their appreciation to our heroes for their selflessness and contributions to our community. Launch Party
During our launch party, the children listened to the opening speech by the principal. The principal explained to the children our SSDB theme for this year. She also shared on all the TRUE, GREAT heroes during this challenging time that we are all facing.
In addition, the children watched the 2020 SSDB video, sang songs about ‘Giving’ and played games.
Presentation of Goodie Bag and “Thank You” Card
At home, parents helped their child to prepare a goodie bag and a “Thank You” card. The goodie bag and thank you card was presented to any one frontline worker or essential service provider within their community.
In school, the children shared with their fellow classmates and teachers who were chosen to be their “heroes” and why they were chosen.
Finale and Reflection
Collectively as a K2 project, teachers collate all the photographs together and put up in one of our fellowship hall. Children decorated the hall with banner and the SSDB pledge cards.
