Be Happy, Be Healthy!

As part of the SSDB Project – “Voice of Care, Hearts in Action,” Little Atlas Preschool organized a Wellness Village featuring a range of activities such as yoga, drumming, boxing, HIIT, 3D Pen Printing and making light-up greeting cards for Parents’ Day 2024. The activities and workshops are engaged from different vendors and Preschool Market Sponsored 2 activities to encourage the event organised when it comes to raising children and parents’ awareness. During Wellness Village Week, both parents and children had the opportunity to participate in various workshops and fun fitness classes!

Through Wellness Village Week, we aim to increase children’s and parent’s awareness when it comes to their well-being through different workshops and activities. Children are involved in the process of planning the event, as they were given a list of activities and they voted for the activities that they are interested in and the activities are included in the wellness village week. The sports activities conducted by the instructor allow both parents and children to interact physically and mentally. Parents’ guidance and encouragement allow children to try different things and challenge themselves.

Children were further explained how can family work together and promote better well-being through the workshops and activities. During the workshop, children get to experience strong bonds and connections with their parents. Parents’ involvement during activities allows them to predict children’s resilience against mental health difficulties and increase their level of prosociality throughout childhood and adolescence. Both parents and children were satisfied with the event and parents also noticed how their presence in children’s growing journey can be very meaningful.

The Wellness Village Week aimed to promote well-being through active engagement. These activities provided not only a chance for children to spend quality time with their parents, but also allowed families to gain valuable knowledge, new skills, and practical tools to manage their mental, emotional, and physical health.

Parental involvement during the event strengthened the parent-child bond, fostering deeper connections and trust. Parents set a positive example by participating in healthy activities and encouraging their children to adopt lifelong wellness habits. Each workshop provided opportunities to learn new skills and techniques related to health and well-being. When parents and children learn together, it enhances understanding and retention, making the experience even more impactful.

Overall, the Wellness Village Week was a tremendous success! Both parents and children recognized the importance of mental well-being for overall health, working together to promote healthy habits and strengthen family relationships. Through this initiative, we’ve not only improved individual well-being but also contributed to the mental and emotional health of the community around us.
