We are delighted to have Ms Menaka from Littlelives coming down to our centre. Mrs Ivy Loh, our Senior Centre Principal, gave her a tour around our centre.
First of all, our Kitchen Garden. It’s an opportunity for children in learning the names of the plants in it. For example basil, aloe vera, mint and many more. Ms Menaka loves it a lot.
Next, we showed her the 3 trees we had planted since 2012, Green Wave Project. We had celebrated it since then and conducted this event ‘I Love Green’ on 22 May annually. We have 2 Belimbing trees and 1 Chiku tree.
We want to instil the values in young children by having the responsibility to water the trees and plants on a daily basis. At the same time, care for the living things in our immediate environment.
Last but not the least, she had hands-on experience in making herself a flower made from recycled plastic bag. She’s so creative!
We are looking forward to reading her write-up for our centre in Littlelives blog.
