In line with this year’s theme, ‘A Caring and Inclusive Home for All’, our children embarked on the Start Small Dream Big project to show appreciation to the cleaners in our community through craftwork and gifting for their dedication and hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
They worked together to create and debuted the book titled ‘We Thank You’, specially written and illustrated to acknowledge the contributions of our cleaners.
Our parents participated in the form of food donation items, which were designed into a hamper and gifted to the community workers of our neighbourhood.
On 13th of August 2020, our centre had a virtual presentation of an appreciation token, the book and hampers with the people of the Tampines Terrace Residents’ Network. The children finally got to meet the people who have kept our community clean and safe.
Representatives gave a thank you speech and the session rounded up with our Start Small Dream Big cheer. As the slogan goes: “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.” We hope that this process had been a meaningful one to instill the spirit of giving and good values such as kindness and gratefulness in our children.
