On the 28th of June 2017, the Nursery, K1 and K2 students from MFS Geylang East Centre kicked off our Start Small Dream Big project by visiting the NEWater centre. The objective of the trip and our project was to create awareness on water conservation.
The first part of the visit was a short video on Singapore’s water sources. Our guide then introduced the children to Water Wally and his tips for saving water.
Next, the children learned about saving water through various activities and an interactive game!
The final part of the tour took us through the process of making NEWater.
After the tour, we went for the mini raingarden workshop which aims to teach children about the basics of water filtration. Using their mini raingardens, water can be filtered without the use of harmful chemicals.
Overall, it was an enriching experience for the children and they continued talking about the importance of saving water as well as ways to reduce our water consumption. Stay tuned for our next post!
