On 22 August, M.Y World @ Yishun Northland celebrated Family Day with a special focus on sustainability. The event began with exciting performances by our students. The Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 children performed reader’s theatre and skit, both adapted from famous fables to highlight the importance of taking care of our planet.
The Kindergarten 2 Malay students then shared a poem about saving the earth, which was both touching and inspiring. Our Playgroup and Nursery 1 children added to the fun with their dance performances to songs about recycling, spreading the message of environmental care through their joyful moves.
After the performances, families explored the game booths set up around the venue. These booths were not just fun but also taught everyone about sustainability in a hands-on way. We also had a Sustainability Gallery, where we displayed projects made using recyclables, done by the children. They had worked on these project and crafts during our June sustainability project. This gallery showed parents what their children had learned about protecting the environment.
To add to the day’s impact, the craft projects made by the children were sold at the event, with all proceeds going to MYMCA Community Outreach. These crafts were not only creative but also showed our children’s commitment to helping others and caring for the environment.
The event was a wonderful example of how our school community came together to celebrate and learn about sustainabliity.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this important cause. Let’s continue to work together to make a lasting positive impact on our Earth!
