With the depletion of natural resources being a concern in this 21st century, children in Agape Little Uni. @Sengkang went through a meaningful journey, exploring the world of natural resources. As we inquire into the world of natural resources, children found out what upcyling is and took action in upcyling their familiar milk powder tins and cans.
With little touches, our Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 children gave a new life to the milk powder tins, transforming them into beautiful night light. Children worked in groups and contributed in different ways to prepare the night lamps for Fund Raising. Our K2 children assisted in the hammering of holes through the tins and threading the handles with sparkly beads, while the K1 gave a new coating to the milk powder tins, painting them white then adding on pastel colours for a calming new look!
With the cans collected, our Nursery 2 children turned the metal cans into cheery flower pots. We added succulents and air plants into the pots, encouraging children to use it as mindfulness tool to help them cope with their ups and downs.
Pairing with a homemade air freshener, the night lamps and potted plants were packaged into Mindfulness packs for sale to raise funds for President’s Challenge!
This was only possible with the great support from our children, parents and family members! A very Big Thank You for your generosity and not forgetting Thank You to our teachers for helping and supporting the event in many ways!
