Children learn best from first hand experience! And thatās what happenedĀ to our Thinkerstar children as they witnessed the much awaited day for us to plant our beloved tree just outside our Centre! Isnāt that awesome? We have our own Tree! š The children called it āThinkerstar Treeā But in fact that treeĀ is āGelam Tikusā which can grow up to 10 M tall
The tree planting was in collaboration with the National Park for Biodiversity Week for schools and to support our SSDB project āSpread Awareness to Zero Food Wasteā which aimed to save the Earth and for children to learn how to care in their environment
After doing the storytelling to our dear children about the āGiving Treeā, the children watchedĀ the whole process of planting the tree:
The manĀ helped usĀ dig a hole in the soil mix
And cut out the base of the bag of the treeĀ and placedĀ itĀ upright into theĀ hole
The man alsoĀ shoveledĀ the excavated soil back into the hole and our Thinkerstar children helped to put the compostĀ (fertilizer)Ā
They evenĀ helped out to water the plant right away!
What an amazing hands on experience for everybody!
