It’s been over 3 months that children from Little Footprints Preschool @Northstar (AMK), had been working to raise awareness to their friends, their parents and public on how to be a responsible pet owner.
It was not an easy journey for these little children with little hands to do little but yet meaningful and important tasks assigned. Many learned to persevere in the things they do, by not giving up easily. Others gain confidence to interact and communicate with people.
Most of them learned about the four golden rules when considering of being a pet owner
-
A pet is a lifetime commitment
-
Be a responsible pet owner
-
Do not abandon your pet
-
Sterilized your pet to prevent unwanted litter
To sum up what the children had learnt, they had created a book for being a responsible pet owner. This book act as a memory and reinforcement of what they had learned previously.
The start small dream big project was a huge success for us. The children benefit a lot from these learning processes. We would sincerely like to take this opportunity to the staff from AVA and SPCA to give our students an opportunity to learn to be a responsible pet owner and interact with real life animals for a hands-on experience. Also to our parents that give a lot of supports to the school and the children. Thank you.
