Aligned with the theme of the SSDB project this year, ‘Doing Good Together’, our centre have chosen to collaborate with S.E.A Aquarium in demonstrating love, care and concern for our nature and environment. More specifically, caring for our marine life and the importance of conservation to protect and preserve the ecosystems in oceans and seas, which are vital to both the environment and human life.
The children went on an exciting S.E.A.A Discovery tour, whereby they were introduced to different types of marine animal friends which exist in the environment and identify the threats faced by marine animals and develop responsibility for caring an protecting the marine environment.
Afterwards, the guides from S.E.A Aquarium had a special talk hosted for the children, sparking a deeper interest in understanding marine life conservation.
As we ventured through our SSDB journey, we collaborated with NEA in securing a slot at the beach. Then, the children conducted a beach clean-up, at Pasir Ris Park, whereby they collected the many trash which can be laying around in our oceans. In total, the children collected 6 big bags of trash. At the end, as a follow-up activity, they were able to sort out the trash into the different categories. Through this, it gave children the hands-on experience in helping out to take care and protecting marine life. Thank you SSDB for giving us an opportunity to do good together and show concern for our environment.
