To extend our gratitude to the community heroes in our neighbourhood, we collaborated with Holland Bukit Panjang Town council. We found out that there are 8 community helpers in our neighbourhood. Town council welcomed our proposal to make healthy care packs and thank you cards.
In the mean time, children pondered about how they could contribute to make their cleaner uncles feel special and appreciated. Teachers facilitated children’s thought process and came out with an idea of making “Thank You” scrolls.
In addition, to support and encourage the children’s spirit of giving, we sought our K1 and K2 parents’ generous contributions. We collected healthy food items and made 8 “Healthy Care Packs” for our community heroes.
After a long, challenging but enriching process, our 8 beautiful scrolls and Healthy Care packs were ready for our “Cleaner Uncles.”
On 26th August, our Principal presented the healthy care packs and the scrolls to the community heroes. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, children were not able to present the gifts themselves. However, children were pleased when the teachers showed the photos to them.
Community helpers expressed their heartfelt thanks. We were also very pleased as Holland Bukit Panjang Town Council sent an acknowledgement letter to our centre.
