We launched our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) journey on 23 April 2021. We are collaborating with the NParks for the children to learn more about our native flora and fauna, as well as the role that trees play in the environment and how they support the animals that live in. The children will benefits and will have fun learning from their journey.
The children used empty water bottle to make a vase and a flower.
Kicking off the project, we started to read the book ‘The Giving Tree’ and the children are aware of what and how a plant/tree plays an important role in our lives.
After reading the story, the children identify the parts of the tree and the purpose/benefits to other living things. They were also get excited when they were able to make flower and a vase from the recycle material such using empty plastic bottles.
In this way, they also learnt to conserve and love for the environment.
In extention of what they have learnt in class, a child brought a bean sprout for Show and Tell Session. She explained how the seed grow into a source of food for us.
