As part of our Project we visited an Animal Shelter so that the children will have a feel of what their project is really all about. We invited Parents to join us as they are also part of this project.
When we arrived at SOSD Ms. Cheong Meiyi welcomed us and brief us on how to behave appropriately in the Animal shelter. She brief the children on the do’s and dont’s inside the shelter. She explained to the children that dogs way of greeting people is through barking so they must not be scared of that. They just need to say greet back the animals.
When we went inside the shelter some of the children were not comfortable but as we continue with our visit, they slowly enjoy seeing and observing the dogs.
After the end of the tour we had a short video of their slogan, “Adopt don’t shop”. This statement encourages people to adopt animals in Animal shelter instead of buying from pet shops.
Our children had a joyful and meaningful experience through this project. Their Parents were a good partner on this field trip. They encourage the children not to be afraid of the dogs and show emphaty.
Here is our group photo that was taken after the trip.
Special Thanks to SOSD REHABILITATION CENTRE for letting us visit their centre👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.
