The children learned about to be grateful with what the trees can provide us. In connection to this, they used the carboard or shoe boxes covers as their painting canvasses. What a good way to reuse these things!
Hereโs another craft in which my child did a sweet corn using tissue roll, used bubble wrap, paint and colored paper.
The K1 children learned about transportation. In this activity, they used different boxes and were encouraged to invebt their own kind of transport. So here are their creative final outcomes!

The children made use of these bottles to make some bowling pins to play in the National Dayโs celebration. They designed it with torn papers. Some wanted it to be colorful and some applied different patterns to make it nicer and beautiful.
Another interesting activity they did was the making of Marina Bay Sands hotel. They used shoe boxes to create this. They went through the process of painting, cutting papers, pasting and making trees on top of it using tissue rolls and green papers as leaves.

The next theme they learned was about Insects. They had a home-school partnership in which their parents helped them to create art and craft about small creatures using recyclable materials they have at home. Look what they made!

The children had a brilliant idea again of making use of the bottles! They used them as the flowervase. So they designed it first with different typoes of lines and coloured it. The more colorful it is, the more beautiful it becomes!

The children were happy seeing the teachers happily receiving their handmade flowers with its well-designed vase with an appreciation letter attached to it.

The children were tasked to make a fun game using the recycled materials. They got all the materials needed from our Green Corner.
They were encouraged to brainstorm their ideas with their groupmates and helped one another to do the task well.
They recorded their activities in the SSDB Reflection book right after they finished making their game boards.
The children realized how fun it is and useful to recycle used things and transform it into something fun. With that, they were able to accomplish the Presidentโs challenge of appying the 3Rโs: Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle.
