In conjunction with Earth Day, PCF Sparkletots @ Ayer Rajah Block 48
launched their Start Small Dream Big
project on 20th April 2018.
After being acquainted with the characters: Start, Small, Dream and Big,
N1, N2, K1 and K2 students were taken back in year 2015 when SSDB was first launched and that the centre has then been a part of it. Children who were involved in the year 2016 and 2017 projects enthusiastically shared how they took part such as collecting donations and doing recycling and planting.
To start their SSDB 2018 participation, children identified one of the impending predicament of our home planet Earth – Climate Change and that an action has to be done about it!
Volunteers from N2 to K2 class acted out a story of a polar bear who have lost her family due to climate change brought about by human’s activities such as piling garbage and cutting down trees to send the message to everyone in the centre of the need to act for saving the earth!
Thus, the teachers and the children were urged to join the call of Ministry of Environment and Water Resources Singapore to take climate change action and pledge to fight climate change.
Having grasp the importance of taking part in showing kindness and goodness to environment and others, children look forward having their family join in their good cause and in taking responsibility for making our community – our world - a better place for everyone.
