The objective of this project is to create an awareness for the children about the community and especially the elderly. Children will be more aware of the smiles that can be seen from the elderly as they receive from their little hands.
We planned to involve children and parents to create some flower pots for the elderly out of recycled materials. We also plan to record some videos of children singing with simple dance performances to be sent to the Old Folks Home together with their crafts.
This project creates an opportunity for the children to be involved in the community and to show their love and care to the people around them especially to the elderly. This project will help the elderly feel that they matter, regardless of relationship.
We hope to bring some cheer and brightness to these people who have contributed to their families and nation in so many wonderful ways.
As we launch our SSDB project, we played the video to the K1 and K2 children about different ways to be connected to the community amidst the current pandemic, Covid 19.
These are the flower pots we sent to the Old Folk’s Home, which were made out of recycled materials and with collaboration from the parents in our Centre. We thank all the parent who have contributed and participated in our project.
Here are the K1 and N2 children who made flower pots at school out of recycled materials. They had a great time decorating and doing this craft with their friends and teachers.
