As Singapore sets out towards sustainable living, the children from PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Kembangan Chai Chee, Blk 59 embarked on a journey about Food Safety and Food Security.
Through this project, aside from learning about ‘Where’ and ‘How’ we get our food from, the children also developed appreciation of the Local Farmers and the innovative ways on how to secure food for people in Singapore. Furthermore, they also developed appreciation of the food they have which resulted to lesser Food Waste.
To celebrate the success of the project, we had our National Day Celebration cum SSDB Closure Activity on 6 August 2021. Our supportive parents and elderlies from NTUC Health Senior Day Care joined us via the Zoom Platform.
The children from N2, K1, and K2 showcased their confidence as they performed their “Fruit Dance”.
- N2 children dancing to ‘Red Red Tomato’
- K1 children dancing to ‘Watermelon Dance’
- K2 children dancing to ‘Berry Berry Strawberry’
We also believed that children learn in different ways hence, we integrated Art & Craft activity on this learning journey. We used clay as our medium and the children created different sculptures like 2D Low- relief Bowl Sculpture, Fruit Sculpture, Farmer Bottle Sculpture and Animal Bottle Sculpture.
Virtual Tour on our Art Gallery
At the end of the celebration, we had our Donation Drive wherein the proceeds will be given to Serving People with Disability (SPD).
Indeed, it was yet another fulfilling year despite of the challenges that the world is facing right now.
