“Teaching children compassion is a vital part of their childhood learning journey – and a skill that will help them throughout their life. Through learning the importance of compassion, care and kindness, children will learn how to be kind to themselves, others and help those in need.”
Since children showed eagerness to help our beneficiaries from the Down Syndrome Association, our little ones put this in action by putting their lovely crafts up for sale.
❤️PG children created colorful bookmarks for their parents. They beautified it with dried flowers and imprinted touches of love through fingerprinting paint all over the bookmark. They named it “Bookmark of Love”
❤️N1 children showed their growing care for their parents by planting plants in a pot. Furthermore, they showed genuine care for plants by watering them everyday. They named it “My Growing Care for Plants”.
❤️N2 children unleashed their creativity by decorating the tote bags through hand printing and improvised stencil painting. They named it “My Kindness Tote Bag”.
❤️K1 & K2 expressed their compassion and empathy towards the Down syndrome beneficiaries through making use of the Singapore Kindness Movement resource to seize the opportunity to write a simple encouragement letter to DSA. Children wrote a heartfelt letter sealed with compassion, love, empathy and care.
As part of the collaboration with parents to promote love, compassion, kindness, empathy and care, we held our fundraising through selling the lovely crafts that the children have made.
The children raised a total of $617 from selling their handmade crafts to their parents. Parents showed unwavering support and cooperation to our fundraising and we have gratefully achieved our target fund.
Indeed, giving back to the community is one of the best way to instil the spirit of compassion, kindness and caring to the people around us.
