The K2 children from PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Bukit Batok East Blk 285C (KN) had recently launched our project as we embarks toward “Caring for the Environment.” In our collaboration with our partner, National Environment Agency, (NEA) has provided us with many helpful resources like video clips and E-Activity workbook for the children. They learned what 3Rs is, the purpose of practicing the 3R, waste management in Singapore and lastly how to recycle the right way.
Children along with their parents started out by making their own version of “coin bank/piggy bank” using reycled materials found at home. Apart from strengthening family bonding, it promotes creativity as well as reducing waste. Next children brought plastic bottles and they painted and used it as hanging decoration in the classroom. Next the children with their parents were involved in the 3Rs poster making. It further enhances the children’s understanding on how to make our earth a safe place to live. Lastly we had a parent volunteer to facilitate and demonstrate to the children how to make toy trains using recyclable materials.
