‘Save Water’ ‘Save Lives’!
We use water every day of our lives. It is required in almost everything we do. Conserving water is very important to be taught to the children, and needs to be accompanied by a sense of awareness and responsibility to be instilled in them.
The children went to collect items that they will used for their Water Dam😊. They collected leaves and twigs.
After creating their Water Dam. They proceeded in trying it out. The children discovered how a dam holds the water in one area and slowly released it into the other side. Conventional dams spins the turbines connected to a generator that produces electricity.
The children investigated water density. They used normal tap water, salt water and 2 lemons. The children discovered that salted water makes the lemon float since the water becomes denser than the lemon itself. Normal water makes the lemon sink, since the lemon is denser than the water.
After the water cyle experiment, the children went ahead and create their own model.
The children used the rain water they collected in the toilet and to water the plant as they practiced water conservation. They were also able to provide some other ways of saving water.
Let’s start teaching the children the value of water and importance of using water wisely.
No one can do everything but everyone can do something!
