The Beginning
We are extremely excited to embark on another year of exciting adventures with our Start Small Dream Big project. With increasing and consistent efforts in encouraging sustainability within Little Skool House At Downtown East, we are focusing on the importance of recycling while attempting to achieve the concept of zero waste. Through the various activities conducted throughout our SSDB project, we aim to inculcate a sense of responsibility in children.
This year, we are engaging children in how they can make a significant difference in the environment and the people around them through interesting and fun ways. The children were educated on the importance and ways of being environmentally friendly through the 3Rs - Reuse, Reduce and Recycle such as upcycling clothes and conserving water.
Ultimately, we understand that it will be challenging for children to achieve zero waste but we would like to further increase the children’s awareness and understanding of how they can take part in protecting the environment with small steps and efforts. Like what Vincent Van Gogh have said, “Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” We believe that our children have what it takes to make a difference in the environment that they live in. We look forward to sharing our adventures throughout this journey!
