Through our journey in our SSDB Project, the theme “Appreciation and Kindness” was emphasized as we embarked on each activity we celebrated from the month of July 2020 until we reached the month of September.
In the course of observing the activities for our project, the children were educated on how to be kind and appreciate, not only the things but also the people around them.
Now for our SSDB Project Finale, we wanted to show our kindness and appreciation to our front liners who are working hard in sacrificing their health and safety during this trying time.
The importance of health and hygiene were established into the minds of our children. We started off by discussing the ways on how to fight the spread of the virus. Most of the answers mentioned by the children were based on the song “COVID-Safe #BacktoSchoolABCs” as it has become a part of our morning routine. Of all the answers, washing our hands was given the most emphasis which sparked the idea of soap making for the front-liners who are directly exposed in service to combat the increase of people infected by the virus.
The children in our centre decided to make some handmade soaps using the Melt and Pour Method. They were delighted to know that we will be making soap for our health care workers.
Our children also created some hand-made paper tulip flowers and wrote some thank you message on the leaves in effort to show how much we appreciate the things they do for our community.
Our precious crafts were delivered to our front-liners in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
We would like to thank everyone for making this event a success!
