Following up on the launch of SSDB at our centre, children from infant to K2 took part in “Save Our Earth” activities all week long. There were recycling, planting, singing, dancing, and other fun games that teach children the whys and hows of taking care of the Earth. Have a look at some of the highlights of our Earth week:
The infants had some sensorial activities such as sing-alongs and hand printing. They also paid a visit to the plants we care for at the campus.
Nursery 1 children had dances and games.
They also learned about our centre’s very own rainwater collection system. They used the water we collected from our school’s green roof to water some of the plants.
Nursery 2 children planted seeds to add to the many different plants surrounding our campus.
Kindergarten 1 students made their own planters using recycled materials.
The Kindergarten 2 kids on the other hand prepared some homemade natural pesticides to better care for our plants and the environment!
Whether these children are blessed with green thumbs is yet for us to find out in the weeks ahead as we see the fruits of their labor. But for now, they all get a thumbs up for doing their part in caring for the Earth.
